Singer-songwriter Miyagi Sayuri offers her first full album following the 4-track mini album of 2001. Her music always reflects the culture of her native Okinawa. Okinawa is Japan's sunny and southernmost group of islands, where the indigenous culture, including language and music, is preserved. 'Utotu' is a word from prayer and the title track is sung entirely in the Okinawan dialect. The song wishes happiness, well-being and prosperity for families, with lyrics actually recited by her grandmother. 'Kioku (remembrance)' is about her grandfather, killed in the war, whom she never had a chance to meet. The whole album is filled with love - from universal love to heartfelt personal love. Miyagi says, "Maybe most of my songs are love songs. Love for the sea, the land and people, thanks for what is given and a feeling of wanting to give everything to someone. Yes, they are all love songs."
